INTEGRATION / NETBOX
Your NetBox data already knows the blast radius. Put it in front of the responder.
Teams that keep NetBox accurate have done the hard part. The problem is that during an incident nobody has time to click from a switch to a rack to a VM to figure out which customer-facing service sits behind it. Incident Lake syncs NetBox into its built-in CMDB and uses those configuration items to draw the service graph and show the likely blast radius. The responder still decides what is actually in scope.
1
Sync
NetBox configuration items flow into the built-in CMDB
2
Map to services
Items are tied to services and business functions on one graph
3
Scope the impact
Trace what an outage could reach; a person confirms the scope
Illustrative mock. Demo video coming soon.
What it does
- Syncs NetBox data into Incident Lake's built-in CMDB
- Shows configuration items and the business-continuity layer on a single service graph
- Helps responders check the likely blast radius of an outage
- Keeps CMDB change history and makes configuration items searchable
What it doesn't do
- Replace NetBox. Keep managing your infrastructure data there.
- Decide impact scope or severity on its own. A person confirms both.
- Page or phone the on-call engineer
Setup at a glance
Connect NetBox
In admin settings, select NetBox under integrations and add your connection details. Secrets are encrypted per tenant.
Review what gets synced
An admin reviews which configuration data comes into the built-in CMDB.
Wire items to services
Check the synced items on the service graph and tidy up how they map to services and business functions. We'll walk you through the exact steps and timing during onboarding.
FAQ
What happens to the NetBox data once it's synced?
It becomes configuration items in the built-in CMDB, which power the service graph and blast-radius checks during incidents. Change history is kept, so a post-incident review can see what the topology looked like at the time.
We also have a ServiceNow CMDB. Can both feed in?
ServiceNow CMDB sync is supported as well. If you plan to use both sources, we'll work out the setup with you during onboarding.
Does it decide the blast radius automatically?
No. It shows what can be reached through the configuration data; the responder confirms what is actually affected.
