Incident Lake vs Waroom (October 2026)
This comparison reflects each vendor’s public information as of October 26, 2026. If something is wrong or out of date, please tell us.
Waroom, built by Topotal in Japan, standardizes incident response inside Slack: dedicated channels, step-by-step guidance and AI-written summaries. If you are shortlisting Japanese tools, it is an obvious name.
The two overlap during the incident itself. The difference is what surrounds it: Incident Lake adds drills and a CMDB to get ready, and regulatory deadline tracking with report drafting to close out.
Microsoft Teams support and a Self-Hosted option with a self-hosted LLM may also matter to you. Every claim about Waroom below cites Waroom’s own website.
Which one fits your team
Waroom is a good fit if…

- You want paging from the same vendor through its on-call option
Incident Lake is a good fit if…
- You want drills, a CMDB and the incident record on one timeline
- You need to track breach-notification deadlines such as GDPR’s 72 hours
- Some teams work in Microsoft Teams, or you need Self-Hosted with a self-hosted LLM

"Unverified" means we could not confirm the point from the public sources listed; it does not mean the capability is missing. Waroom prices are quoted from its pricing page, excluding tax. That page also shows annual prices with a discount, so confirm the month-to-month price with Topotal. Anything about regulations here is general information, not legal advice.
Running both, or moving over
You do not have to change how live incidents run on day one. Start where the tools overlap least, then decide where response should live.
1
Start with a drill
Rerun a past incident as an exercise in Slack or Teams and keep the debrief
2
Map services and deadlines
Register components and business processes, and check deadline calculations and report templates
3

Checklist: moving from, or running alongside, Waroom
- On-call: if you use Waroom’s on-call option, decide first whether paging stays there or moves to another on-call tool. Incident Lake is not built to be your pager
- Incident creation: pick one tool to open incidents during the trial so the same alert is not raised twice
- Runbooks: import procedures as knowledge via CSV and approve them before they are used in search and suggestions
- Past incidents and postmortems: import what you need as knowledge for similar-incident search. Check with the vendor how to export records from Waroom
- Severity and roles: add your severity definitions to Incident Lake so its suggestions match your scale
FAQ
Can we keep Waroom?
Yes. Many teams keep their current response flow and start with drills, the CMDB or deadline tracking. Decide in advance which tool opens incidents so nothing is raised twice.
Will the AI set severity or close incidents on its own?
No. The agent proposes and the people in the thread decide. Reports are never submitted without a person sending them.
Does it work in Microsoft Teams?
Yes. Incident Lake joins threads in both Slack and Microsoft Teams, so it fits organizations where different teams use different chat tools.
Try it on one past incident
