We held an Incident Lake study session at NEC Solution Innovators' Nagoya office.

On September 18, 2026, SIGQ Co., Ltd. held a seminar at the Nagoya office of NEC Solution Innovators, Ltd. on the Cyber Response Capability Enhancement Act and the incident management service “Incident Lake.”
On the day of the event, the first half consisted of a classroom session covering legal frameworks and the product, while the second half featured a hands-on exercise where participants actually used Incident Lake. In addition to deepening their understanding of the regulatory framework, participants gained hands-on experience with methods to streamline the initial reporting of incidents and the preparation of incident reports.
Part 1: The Cyber Response Capabilities Enhancement Act and the Future of Incident Response
In the first half, we focused on the enforcement of the Cyber Response Capability Enhancement Act and introduced key points regarding corporate incident response. We provided an explanation from the perspective of how to apply the law to actual operations, covering topics such as asset identification, the concept of “awareness,” documenting decisions and the course of action during a response, and reporting procedures with relevant parties.

We also introduced Incident Lake, a tool designed to support these response, documentation, and reporting processes. By maintaining a chronological record of information as the incident is being handled and using that record as source material for initial reports and final reports, it reduces the burden of having to gather information again later for reporting purposes. We explained this approach and how the product facilitates it.
What Is the Definition of “Cognition”? — Questions That Touch on the Essence of Practice
Participants asked fundamental questions such as, “What is the definition of ‘awareness’ under the Cyber Response Capability Enhancement Act? (What event serves as the trigger?)”
It wasn’t just about understanding the basics of the system; participants also wanted to know what factors to use as a basis for decision-making in real-world situations and how to implement the system in practice. The high level of interest among the participants was evident from their questions, which focused on concrete actions.
Second Half: Experience the entire process—from the initial report to the preparation of the final report—through a simulated incident
In the second half, we conducted a hands-on exercise using Incident Lake, simulating a scenario in which an incident had occurred.

Participants had the opportunity to actually use Incident Lake during the exercise to submit initial reports and create reports. Rather than just listening to a product presentation, they were able to get hands-on experience and see for themselves how Incident Lake can be used for reporting tasks when an incident occurs.
By allowing participants to experience the process firsthand—whether it was preparing an initial report or organizing the sequence of events to compile a report—and applying these scenarios to their actual work , they were able to gain a concrete understanding of how Incident Lake simplifies the reporting process.
To turn records of responses into reports
This study session provided an opportunity for us to work with participants to explore best practices for recording and reporting in incident response, through an understanding of the legal framework and hands-on experience with the product. We received practical questions related to real-world scenarios, making it a very meaningful experience for us as well.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone at NEC Solution Innovators who participated, as well as to everyone who helped coordinate and support the event.
SIGQ will continue to support on-site incident response and help reduce the burden of incident documentation and reporting through Incident Lake. Thank you very much for this valuable opportunity.
